    Default VT engine misfire

I need help to solve an issue. When my car is cruzing on the open road in o/drive the car is running fine. If i put my foot down to accelerate the engine will miss a couple of times (chugg) before it picks up. It then runs smoothly. I can virtually make the car chugg at call in top gear. On gas the problem is magnified.

Have 2 mates with the same problem on VT/VX.

Get the fuel line pressure checked. To see if the fuel pump is holding pressure.
And the fuel pressure regulator checked.
Also check all your spark plugs and ignition leads for no leaks or loss of spark from the leads.
You can also clean the throttle body if dirty also check the throttle position sensor
could also be the mass air flow sensor or a leak in your air flow system. Get the diagnostic machine on to it for any sensor problems.
There are lots of causes that for this behavior.

Had exactly the same symptoms with a new V6 VT I had years ago.

I would definitely look to ignition first. If you don't know how long the plugs have been in there change them. (They are very cheap to replace). Then check for symptoms again. If you still have the miss (and I bet you will) change the plug leads and re-check.

In my case the problem was the plug leads and I suspect that is probably the issue for your engine too.

Just do one thing at a time until you isolate the cause.
