i've asked around a few mechanics that i know and none of them have herd of this problem before so i figured i would ask you guys and hope someone can help
the car is a vxII 2001 model ecotec auto
i pulled over to send a text message put the car in park and pulled then hand brake on then when i went to take of it wouldnt move the car was still running and when i put it in gear it would only rev to 2500 like it does when the brakes are applied it also wouldnt roll in netural the brakes didnt appear to be locked on this has happened a few times now anyone ever had this problem any ideas would b helpful
Was there any load on the engine, like you get if you left the hand break on or were "stalling it up" or just free revs as if in neutral?
If not sounds like transmission, but commodores are new to me too.
Could be your hand brake . Next time it does it put it into reverse and back up a bit then put it into drive and see if it fixes it . Could be the hand brake shoes binding and not releasing . Or you could jack up the rear and see if you can spin the rear wheels by hand
there are three types of people in the world , those who can count and those who can't
was no load just ideling and tried reverese wouldnt go at all i will have to jack the car up next time and check if they free spin didnt think of that
