vt auto knockin noise

Have a problem with my vt series 2 auto trans. On acceleration there is a vibration through the car, and has a knockin noise that sounds like its coming from the extension housing. Noise is constant while driving, but doesnt do it in gear. Wheels are balanced, drive shafts are all good and there is nothing visibly wrong on the car. Anyone had any issues with the output shaft getting worn and making noises??

Found the problem. One of the ball bearings in the centre cv joint in the propellor shaft had shattered. Feel it is a pretty rare problem to have.
