i done mine, i got it from the auto paint shop, next to my workshop. i think it was a flexi-primer??
and acrylic base coat with a flexi additive, and just iso free 2-pac clear coat.

I used Septone Engine enamel to paint the V6 3800 and SEQUENTIAL INJECTION numbers/letters. It has worked well and is all good after 12 months or so. If I was painting the whole cover, though, then I'd be giving it all a light sand first, but still use an engine enamel to withstand the high temps. Colour choice is whatever floats your boat.

thanks guys, its a v6 but i reckon it looks better with it on but ive heard that the covers are a heat trap and its better off without but i wanna paint it just so its looks a bit different. Can u get all the things from autobarn or supercheap auto?? just to clear it up its basically put on a couple of clear coats of acryllic and spray any colour on it??
i might sound a little stupid but i have no idea haha

Yes you can get the stuff from the above said. I would not put clear on first, would just use engine enamel. Someone may beg to differ though?

if its not going to be done with the proper auto paint, the give it a nice clean with thinners, and spray on your colour, let it dry for the recommend time, then a couple coats of clear.

    yay it did!! lol.

all up the paint cost around $50.00

    i used a flexi primer
acrylic VU blue (not sure of the paint code) with 50 part thinners and 50 part paint with a flex additive
and a iso free 2-pac clear coat.

i sanded it down, and cleaned it with thinners first.

    hope this helps!

    Looks blue to me sorta.
Well with mine I used heat proof stuff from auto barn which was about 18 bucks a can. Sprayed it purple. Has a shiney effect to it.
I just chucked some base coat on it (Paint was supposed to look anodized so I had to use this stuff) then chucked the purple on. Looks good too.

wipe it down with a grease remover like thinners. spray with a coat of plastic primer then the colour you want. if its metalic you need a clear coat. either that or go whole hog like my daughter is and take it to a chrome plater. hers isnt done yet but wont be long and should look good.
i do as the voices tell me
