What do you do to increase performance on V6 holden engine

About to buy a VT. Will be a V6 as I dnt want a V8 at this stage. Do the V6's have punch and can any mods be done than to them so that they do? What do you suggest or have done to your own? Any advice appreciated :w00t: ​
