hey guys
ever since i got my car back from being lowered, i have noticed (thanks to my brand new tomtom) that i am driving 8km/h faster than what my speedo says i am doing.
can anyone help me and tell me how or where i can get this fixed?
im from ringwood, vic if that helps anyone tooo
cheers in advance fellas
did you test it before you lowered it and have you changed rim size
From my experience the speedos are nearly always reading less than the GPS but only like about 3- 4kms different at about 60kph. I think this increases a bit the faster you go. Apparently they make it this way to be on the safe side. The GPS navigators are usually very accurate.
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
it had changed a lil bit when i changed my wheels over (20's) but that was only 3k's so that didnt bother me, but it was when i lowered it that it changed more..
but it seemed like i was speeding as i had cruise on at 95km/h on my speedo in a 100 zone and was still over taking nearly every car that was on the road?! so thats why im unsure about it
cheers guys
yeah running 20s with make the car go 5kms faster at 100 but up to 80 is the same.
Don't forget speedo's only have to be accurate within 10%, at least that's what they tell the manufacturer. So don't be surprised if the variance between the 2 (as neither are perfect) creates the issue. If you're worried about being pulled over, most coppers will leave you alone provided you are within reasonable margin of the limit. To be safe stick 5 below.
blue vl, it has been the same over all speeds.. :|
yeah i have been doin that for the time being mike, just not used to it tho!
cheers for the comments
