VX Wagon ticking noise in Tailgate

Here is what is going on in my VX Wagon.

I blew a Front/Rear wiper fuse yesterday. I replaced the fuse with the exact same one, but that one blew straight away. I brought a new Wiper relay and fuse, put the relay and fuse in, it started working fine again until I realised that there was a ticking sound coming from the rear tailgate as well as all the lights on the dash and the roof light dimming everytime the tick was heard. The motor for the rear wiper has been removed for sometime and there has never been a problem before, however I think that the wires for the rear wiper are still in there somewhere, lol. If I remove the fuse for the wipers, the sound and dimming is gone. Any suggestions on what it might be, would be awesome, before I get the auto electrician to have a look.

Sounds like there is a bare wire from the rear wipers shorting out in the tailgate. You will need to remove the tailgate lining to have a look and see what's going on.
