Hi,
I am having a problem with my vx commodore. Occasionaly it will stutter momentarily, and then continue on it's way, and on two occasions, it has stopped altogether whilst driving.
Most recently it happened this morning whilst my Fiance was driving it. I cant have this happen!
From searching I have found that the most likely candidate is the Crank Angle Sensor. How would I determine this conclusively? I found the document from Airstrike that details how to read the error codes, and I will do this tonight. What codes should I look for to pin point CAS?
I appreciate any and comments and feedback
bet my left testicle its the CAS, just search error codes in the forum.
Another possibility is if the connector contacts to your fuel pump is loose or dirty. Give it a clean and see how you go. Otherwise it could be your fuel pump thats on its last legs.
Youtube video of the fault codes:

I'm such a gump, I dont quite get how to read them properly!
I could have sworn one of the flashes went to 10!
Ideas?
Edit:
I count:
1 3 7 2 (3 times)
10 3 7 4 (3 times)
What does that mean?
Booked into Holden Today.
And the verdict is (insert drum roll here)
**** CRANK ANGLE Sensor! *****
He also mentioned that the inlet manifold and throttle body need cleaning, but i'll do that!
phew, my left testicle is safe
I think I have a similar issue.
One day about 6 months ago my car had trouble starting, took a good 5 or 6 seconds of cranking and ever since then it's been the same.
More recently, it would start up fine after the long cranking but then as would try and drive off it would go a few meteres then almost cut out before resuming normal revs.
A week or so ago I noticed that it had almost no power when I put my foot down, like it had a "power leak".
Two days ago it almost cut out when I took of at the lights and then tonight it almost stalled in neutral after I started it and then I parked it at a servo after a 15 minute drive, started it again two minutes later and as I turned out on to the road all the power drained away again and it almost stalled.
Do you guys reckon I'm looking at a CAS or fuel pump or both?
How hard is it to swap the CAS over yourself?
