Hi, just bought a holden commodore vx00b
I have a few questions.
1. Are there any online repair manuals?
2. The radio wont work, all the display comes on, but no sound. Perhaps because there is no fuse in the amp/subwoofer bit?- although i notice there is only one side of the connection in there? Does this model not have an amp/subwoofer, or has the right hand connector receded behind the fusebox.
3. How do i get the fusebox off without dismantling the dash>
4. Hanging beneath the steeringwheel is some kind of electrical connection/junction box things- what is it?
5. Im sure there was more, ah well. Why is my radio not working?
6. I remember- what does the 'power' button next to the gearstick do?
thanks all!
Welcome,
I'll try to answer as many of your questions as possible:
1/ I have seen a manual for sale on eBay, although I can't vouch for how good it is, but from memory its only about $15-$20 so it's worth a try.
2/ I'm not quite sure what you mean by this question, al I can say is check as much wiring as you can. Something may have disconnected.
3/ To get to the fusebox you need to pull the cover under the steering wheel down. Grab the cover at the top on both the left and right sides (under the steering wheel) and pull towards you. It will feel like it's going to break, but it just has metal clips (3, I think), which you need to dislodge.
4/ Do you mean under the cover I just spoke about, or in front of it. If it's under the cover, then it's probably the connector that mechanics use to hook your car up to a computer.
5/ Like I said - Check all the wiring...
6/ The power button is for more..... you guessed it - POWER!!! When you have this button pressed in (you should get a light show up on your dash to say that it's on), you will notice that your car revs for longer in each gear, therefore allowing you more power so to speak (or rather to get to a certain speed a bit quicker). But on the downside, it likes to drink for fuel at the same time.
Hope this helps..
Amanda
Hi, sorry, i assumed the forum would mail me when a response came up. Maybe i missed it. Thank you though.
Q1. I was hoping for a free download of the manual, like a pdf, ive seen em for motorbikes ive had.
Q2. I was referring to the fusebox, sorry. There is a position for a fuse marked amp/subwoofer. There is only one side of the slot with a metal terminal however, so if there is an amp/subwoofer then it wouldnt work. but im guessing there isnt an amp/subwoofer fitted as standard, so this isnt my problem?
5, ok
6cool, thanks, i dont think its connected though..perhaps
thanks a million for you response
