Amplifier in VT

Hello all.

I'm need to install an amplifier in a VT with stock stereo. Does anyone have information on a wiring diagram? Or have a link to somewhere on this site they already know of?

What sort of amplifier are you putting in? And whats it going to be powering?

Some amps will accept straight up a speaker terminal connection from one speaker (just splice the cable). And they turn on only when there is a signal saving your battery. E.g. the Sony Small footprint Monoblocks.

Other amplifiers that only have RCA connections will need your head unit to be modified to provide RCA out.

Well it's an old philips EB 395 and no RCA, I'll need to be doing much splicing I think.

I did mine last week and used the standard headset. I used the rear door speaker wires as the signal to my amp which is in the boot. you can get some great amps with loads of pump on ebay just now for around $80. You can also get speaker grills off ebay for your parcel tray for about $30
