    Default VT Electric Aerial

    Hi,

My electric aerial has just stopped working. Never had any trouble with it before but is now stuck in the "up" position. Would like to fix it before someone decides to rip it off for me.
Can someone help - what is the most common causes of this happening. Thanks

Well... what can you still hear the motor running when you turn the stereo on?

If so the little cord thing inside the aerial is broken. You can buy a replacement one from autobarn for... about $20 i think mine was. I haven't gotten round to fixing it yet, but you have to pull the inner guard off, the aerial motor out, then turn the stereo on, put the cord in the right amount an turn the stereo off again so it winds in.

Sounds straight forward but like i say i haven't done it yet!

If the motor doesn't run... well clearly its the motor! unless its a fuse or maybe wiring..! haha

I tried fixing our VX by just replacing the mast and cord, was a fail as the mast had seized in. What i'd recommend is Going to Holden and getting a VZ unit. They superseded the VT-VY aerials and are a much better unit, direct replacement. Cost around $120.
    Power is measured in DECIBEL
