Hello all.
Just wondering the minimum jumper cable amps needed for a VT?
I was told it was 400amps but thought it was more. Supercheap has them up to 1000amps. I just want to make sure I've got enough to get myself and other cars started again if I have to.
Any help, would be great.
Thanks,
Dan
Let me put it this way: Read the CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) on your battery. If that is enough to turn it over in cold conditions with a brand new battery then that's enough. You'll find 240CCA is pretty much the smallest for a commodore, with somewhere in 300CCA range will gurantee it. So yea, if the next size up cable is 400Amps, then go for that cable.
i have 400amp jumpers for my vt, and they work quite well when my amp and subby kill my battery lol. 400A will do![]()
Thanks for the help guys, seems the cables I have work fine, used them yesterday thanks to the amp...
Thanks again for your help.
