hey guys this is my first car i got for my 17th birthday and already have big plans
if any of you ahve any suggestions i would love to hear them although im not to fussed on the stereo and subs and that sort of stuff
thanks
First things first, grab some 18 - 19" wheels for her, makes the car better imo for handling and higher speeds, obviously thats what ya gonna do right.
Grab a 2.5" redback exhaust which will cost around 400-450 fitted, find someone who will do darker than legal tint and tint ya passenger/driver/rear windows as much as ya can if you want you can put a light tint on the front windscreen but you will be a serious cop magnet if ya do that.
Make sure you get a serious service no pissing around change everything that you can get it all brand new, grab a HSV brake system and get it installed if ya can find them because VT's have a shit braking system imo mind you others may disagree.
Maybe some new headlights i see it looks like it has custom rear ones cant really tell what they are from here try and match them up keep ya black trim if you want looks better with it imo but thats up to you and drop her on her ass with 18" wheels you cant go super low (might be ultra low cant remember) neither would you with an exhaust system because lowering usually means you be nearly scratchin ass anyhow if ya want anything interior make sure you find something you like and either spray your car or match her colorhope it helps mate
i already baught ultralow king springs and all new battery, leads, plugs and terminals
i next wanna get a good exhaust system to make it have a better note ive already had the rear muffler removed and a straight pipe run from the centre muffler back made it sound a lil better but i want just a lil louder
i dont really know much in exhaust systems tho what are some good ones
will the redback 2.5" make it sound abit better?
Any aftermarket exhaust is going to sound better than adding just a straight tailpipe onto the standard system. It all depends where you're headed with the car. If your keeping it N/A, than go some decent extractors (pacemakers/HM's, etc), go a cold air intake from holden - 'bout $90, heaps cheaper that an aftermarket one. And you can never go wrong putting some diff gears in it!
Have fun with it mate, nicer than the car I started with at 17!
yeah the redback will make it sound louder and better from the outside my mate just got his VY done and inside you can hear it but your engine is louder so you'll want to get some extractors and you should hear a serious difference
Get some clear side indicators instead of those ugly orange ones, decent rims, chrome front grilles, colour code the bumpers and sides, get some decent tail lights (VT Series 2 or VX Calais Tail lights) and take the spoiler off

Hey man see if you can get your hands on some HSV gear. I bought a full HSV coulson interior, 250km/h instrument cluster, HSV dash badge & rear garnish off a mate who was wrecking one out. Adds a nice touch lol.
Also for free power, remove your airflow metre & dismantle it. Knock out the mesh (people say you need it to protect the AFM - thats why you have an air filter). Anyway give the inside a really good polish out then put it back together making sure you line up all the edges. Makes a noticeable difference.
airflow meter?
Don't do this.. its there for a reason..Also for free power, remove your airflow metre & dismantle it. At 17 your first priority is to get to know the car as it is and develop your driving skills. Knowing the cars faults and limits as well as your own will go a long way to not making you a statistic. Fix anything up on it first that needs attention then work from there. The police will be looking out for you as well (those P plates seem to get their attention so don't try and attract any) The mods can come later. In the mean time, learn how to service and maintain it. There is a lot to digest...and safe driving.
