Hi folks
Been having niggly probs with m' VXII Berlina V6 sedan over a long time. Lots of posts I've read, people are saying that under gentle accelaration around 80kph they are getting a jerking through the car like its missing or slipping a gear. Lots of replies saying check plugs, leads and coil packs.
Ok, my car has 158,000 kms, has been serviced regularly (not by Hold-on) and it is generally running pretty sweet - BUT - I notice the same symptom - jerking sensation felt right through the car, clunking noise accompanying it, exactly the same as other describe, but Always below 80km/hr and never under accelaration - quite the opposite in fact, always when coasting with foot off the loud pedal, say down a gentle slope and idling with the car doing 50 - 60 km/hr. Have noticed it at around 70 km/hr and once or twice at 80 but never at speeds higher than that and never under load.
My question is, could it be possible that the torque converter lockup could be operating intermittently under these conditions for some strange reason and causing these symptoms?
Anyone else with anything remotely similar?
is there any body here ?
at around 80k of slow accelleration u can see the revvs pickup for half a second almost as if its trying to change gear into OD but .5 of a second later it will go back into 3rd, speed to about 85k then go into OD fine.... has always been the same ever since ive had it.... same goes for my brothers vx aswell
good luck with your search.... either live with it or fork out the cash for someone to strip it and have a look![]()
