Default How easy is it to replace Ecu and do they need to be programmed

    Hi

i have been having start issues, fan control turning on and off by itself car stopping etc. Do you think its the ecu if so how easy is it to change and does it need to be programmed to the car or is it just a straight swap. i was going to just get one from a car breaker.

    cheers

I have no idea if your ECU is cactus or not but if you do need to replace it then it is easy to change but it will need to be linked to the BCM or the engine will not start. This needs to be done with a Tech 2.
