Pulled out my dash etc and got my heater controls out I can see the globes and can take them out easily. But I'm just wondering.
Do Holdens stock the globes to replace the lights in this or do I have to buy a whole new unit?
And how much money are
the lights?
the whole unit?
Cheers for any help you can give me guys.
Hi Shuffs, I had this trouble a few weeks ago.. These lights are only available from Holden and there are 7 of them in total. 2 with white dots that replace the air conditioner and rear demister switch globes and 5 for the heater control unit. They cost me $10.00 each (trade price) and are around 13.00 retail. Maybe you can get them cheaper at your local Holden dealer. They were a stocked line for me.
Cheers
Or plan B.
Check out 2nd hand ones.

I took one of the blown globes and matched it up in the Narva catalogue with 1.5watt globes (could have been 1.2W can't remember), and ordered a whole box (15 globes), as that's the only size they came in.
When he quoted me the price, I nearly fell over - $2.15 for the whole box!
The globe bases are a bit longer, and the white plastic facia backing plate needs modifying, but an hour later with a sharp scalpel and it was back together working normally. I don't notice the difference without the two different types of globes from Holden.
$75 from Holden, or $2.15 from Repco...you tell me which one is worth it. Plus, I have another whole set of new globes to go in when these ones fail again.
If your handy with a soldering iron, buy a $2 pack of LED's off ebay and solder them in, never have to worry about blown globes again!
Power is measured in DECIBEL
Did you have to pull the whole dash apart to get to the lights?
nope, just radio out, shifter surround, facia surround, then you can unscrew and remove the A/C button module. This module houses the light globes. It requires a bit of fiddly dismantling, but very possible with a steady hand and some patience.
Thanks a lot for that. Sounds like a weekend jobby.
