G'day guys, just wrote off my car and am looking at buying a VT S pack off of a mate of mine.
He says the issue it has is the fuel tank always shows as full on the dash, and sometimes when you turn the car on the right angle, the fuel dies and you have to restart the car.
Any ideas? Do you think it is worth buying it?
Cheers.
Most likely cause of the incorrect fuel reading is the sender assembly in the fuel tank. The other issue may be related to low fuel but thats as far as i can take it. Like anything.....it's worth it if it's cheap enough.
Yeah well it is in my price range and fairly reasonable car... just dont want to buy another problem really.
If it is cheap or easy to fix and wont cost too much in labor, i would like to get it.
Cheers
Obviously pick-up bowl either moved or damaged in the tank, cant catch the fuel and also bowl is very close to sender unit, might be damaged / stuck on one point.
Mate of mine's had a similar prob.We pull the tank out of wrecked car(pump+sender unit $170..pick-a-part) and replaced his.No more probs.
I've got one my self (5 Speed) wouldnt give it up.Only mod Pedders legal low.Saw 1 in the car yard last week for 7.5K (VT II Auto S).
If the $$$$ is right and the cars clean enough for its age ,get it.
Thanks for that mate =) apparently they got a new sender installed a few months but that didnt work? Should it cost much to get a mechanic to look at it/fix it?
This is a VT II Auto S in the dark blue, VX S rims, window tinting, aftermarket sound system for just over $3,000 I could get it for. Just clocked over the 200,000, should that be a problem?
Cheers
