hey guys,
looking at buying wither a vt ss (5L) or vx ss (5.7L).
just after some rough figures on fuel costs and consumption
how mnay km's u get from each tank? and roughly (due to ever changing fuel prices) how much to fill?
cheers
i was getting 480k for about 70 in a tuned ss
My Dad use to only ever get about 450 from the VY SS, But he had a heavy foot lol
if its any help my 5L vs gets 19.8 per 100k city driving and drops to 9 to 10L per 100k on the highway. these figures are averages they do vary.
mate its all about how you drive them i have had vn vt and now a vu ss the vn 5 ltre 5 speed wasnt to bad bout 400 to a tank the vt ss was auto when i drove it 300 lol but when my misses drives it she gets bout 550 thats a 5.7 now my daily is a vu ss 6 speed and if i cruise everywhere bout 450 other wise anywhere between 250 to 300 but really if you want to drive a v8 you didnt really buy it to drive like an 80 year old women no fun in that
I usually get 450km for my VTSS, but that is mostly town driving.
VX SS 5.7ltr Auto - 600-650 a tank (roughly $70-80 a tank) Mobil 98 octane.. 80% highway 20% city driving. Stock standard car.
vt ss 5ltr 300 to 450ks out of a tank depending on how i drive it. the 5ltrs in vt,s are thirsty
thanks for your help guys. thinking i may be better of with a series 2 and going 5.7. after looking at some consumption stats on redbook and going on what you guys have said they seem to be better on fuel.
mate i have a 02 vu ss 5.7L m6 i have full exhaust otr mafless tune and i get bout 550-650 city driving and 930 highway driving all depends on how ya right foot is and these figures are run with 98 fuel and its bout 100-150kms diff if i use 95 or less fuel
