I have a vt commodore its changing gears to early
Any one Know how to fix this??
Also whats the recommened tyre presure?![]()
For a start - install the restrictor that comes with the throttle body.
It's a vaccum pressure restrictor. As the throttle opens, the vacuum decrease in the plenum. As the throttle closes, the vacuum increases (less air pressure as the air is sucked out of the plenum by the pistons).
The PCM detects this reduction in vacuum, decides that this means your off the throttle and changes up gears.
The restrictor reduces the amount of air sucked out of the sensor line, therby increasing the detected pressure (only in the sensor line) and the gearboxes changes gears as per normal.
No restrictor - Changes up early. If you weren't supplied a restrictor, you probably didn't buy it from MACE and I have no sympathy for you :P
Caveat Emptor.
vs onwards i dont see the restrictor doing anything the maf will see the change wether its in there or not you just need a tune like everyone else who runs a bigger TB on an auto vs onwards with electronic 4l60e
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
Restrictor worked on my VT
