VX Air Bag Light

Twice in the last 3-6 months my airbag light has been coming on. I took it to a mechanic, he said it was just a fault or something along those lines. Today (18/2/10) driving to work as normal and the bloody thing came on again =(

Has anyone else had a similar kind of fault and what did u end up having to do?

Do a search as you will find HEAPS of issues.

Not sure if the V8's and V6's are differnt but from the research I have done for the LS1's this is what I came up with.
1. Clock Spring (behind the steering wheel) is the most common fault but horn and volume controls (if installed) will also not work
2. A short may be happening if you have a book (like the melways) beside the seat as it may be rubbing on the wires
3. Faulty airbag
4. Faulty module thingo majigo not 100% sure if it was aircon module or bcm or something like that.

Other notes are if you have removed your seat it can also trigger the fault. Do a search for more options.
