Hi Guy's,
I have been given the task of selling my inlaws VT Calais. My father in law has passed away and my mother in law is going into a nursing home. I am not sure what it is worth, so I thought I would ask on here.
This is a genuine old man car. It would have been washed more times then it was driven.
The car has been sitting idle for a few months as we sort things out so I need to give it a good clean.
It has traveled 47931 km as of tonight. Yes that is right. I have not missed a number out.
It is white
Automatic
Body appears to be perfect (will know when I wash it)
Interior looks perfect
Always serviced by a Holden Dealer
I am almost certain he ordered this car with a limited slip diff. (who knows why! The only person who would have stood on the accelerator pedal hard would have been the Holden mechanic's.)
So what is it worth????
Hey Hillman
Did a quick search on Carsales, only found two cars Australia wide under 100000km! Maybe this will give you an idea. Looking at this, I'd say maybe $11,000? Who knows though, some people will pay extra for a car like that coz its got so few kays. Let us know how much it goes for. Condolences about the father-in-law

If people are still getting that for VR/VS utes I don't see why you can't for the Calais.
Got some pics? Sounds like a sweet car
VX2 Executive Sedan - 3.8L Auto (for now)VT SS Sedan - Supercharged V6 Auto (Genuine L67 SS)VN SS Sedan - 5.0L 5 Speed Manual (Currently Balga spec waiting for panel and paint)
hmmm, i need a car. No way you will get 14 when VZ acclaims can be had for 11.
I'll give you 7.
Let me know if you want it gone.
Can get a VU SS for 10k, still see VR/VS 5ltr utes going for 12+
And who'd want a VZ???????? ugly-arse POS
Can get a VU for that? Where the hell from im looking for one.
Leather? Sunroof? 5ltr?
Sounds like $10000 would be on the money. That is what I was thinking but needed some advise.
Unfortunately jay, not leather, no sunroof, and it is missing 2 cylinders. Only a 6. He almost ordered the supercharged engine. Wish he had.
thanks guys!
damn, i would of bought it if it did have, i'd go a little higher then 10, maybe start off with 12, you can always drop your price
Id start at 10k - you wont get any more for it and no one will bother looking if you start higher.
At the end of the day, its a VT, which is at least 10 years old - if not older.
The old bloke next door to me has a VX Calais with a genuine 37000km on it. Absolutely like new. Big hearted dealers offered him $8000 for it on a trade. (Jeez they're a.......les!!) He told them to stick it and kept it
photos mate, would help people like us give you an estimate, like people have said, if your in no rush to sell it then there is no rush to get rid of it, so start high and slowly work your way down, eg if you want around 10 for it, start at 12 someone comes along offers you 11 thinking they get a good deal when secretly your making and extra 1g on what you thought. But if you put it at 10 to start off with you may only get 8.5 or 9. You get the idea lol but yeah mate stick a few interior extior and a pic of the engine.
Goodluck with the sale
