Hello to all. Jumped in the ol' VT the other day & went to put it into reverse but it kept popping out of gear. It will go into reverse but if you dont hold your tounge right & put it in the right way it will jump out of reverse. There seems to be no clutch issues as all other gears i have no problems with selecting & using. I havent noticed any grinding/crunching noises as yet so its got me buggered. I have had a look on the net & it seems a few LS1 6 speed gearboxes have this issue but as yet have found no solution to my problem so any suggestions or advice would be appreciated
hey matemy six speed is kinda like that except mine wont pop out it is just so tight to get in. mine is a vz but the same box. its a real pain in the ass
that sounds like more a pain in the bum than my prob,i can get it into reverse but if i dont do it right out she pops out of gear. you possibly might have a similar problem as mine, but unsure yet. theres another post by melcq that a few of us are waiting on thats saying something about a circlip popping out causing the problem. Your circlip might have come all the way out causing to get in the way when selecting reverse, dunno. It seems there are a few probs with these boxs because of stupid little things failing, yours being VZ i thought Holden would have looked int it by then
sound like the sydcro is gone in the box that is what happened to mine and that cost me $2500 to get it rebuilt
