    Default air intake question

hey people, i was looking at some 4 inch air intake ducting from autobarn, and was just curious, what size is the original ducting? is it 3 inch? how to i go about connecting a 4 inch one, like would i have to buy a 3 inch to 4 inch reducer to connect from the throttle body and the MAF to the new ducting?

the new 4 inch one has 4 inch rubber connections with it, but will they fit straight onto the throttle body? or do i have to buy like a 3 inch to 4 inch silicone hose connection to connect from the throttle body to the new duct.

    any help appreciated

Is this just for looks? Because the MAF and TB are both smaller than 3".

I noticed that 'V6 Performance' said that it increases power, torque, throttle response, etc, but they don't tell you by how much.

I don't really trust those claims. The stock MAF is only 60mm wide and the stock TB is only 64mm wide. Those are your restrictions not the piping.

hmmmm, because atm ive upgraded from the stock piping to a 2.5 inch aluminium piping, with a pod on the end, even though its thinner than stock theres less turbulence caused by the walls. so maybe go for a 3 inch alloy piping instead of 4 inch?

Couldn't hurt. Just don't go too big because when the airflow hits the smaller diameter meters, the air will slow down when it has to cram up.
