    Default VT Electric Window issue.

Hi, Thankyou for taking the time to read this and possibly point me in the right direction.

I have a VT Senator full electrics.

    These are my issues:
    Passenger Rear Door.
    - speaker does not work.
    - central lock does not work
    - electric window does not go DOWN.
    - electric window DOES however go UP. ONLY when operated at the door switch. Not console.

    Drivers Rear Door
    - speaker and central locking work fine.
    - electric window does not go UP.
    - electric window DOES go DOWN with either the main console switch or the door switch.

Things do not change when I switch over the two door switches so that eliminates the door switches being the issue. As the two doors are doing opposite things with the electric windows.

I have replaced the centre console switch with a new genuine Holden one. BUT maybe its a faulty one? Could this be the cause of the problems?

    Cheers
    Jason

Sounds like the wires are damaged in the door. Try holding the window switch in DOWN mode (seeing as that doesnt work from the door switch you said) and turn your stereo to just back speakers and try slowly opening the door and if you get sound at some points and not others or if the window works at some points and not others then it's the wires going through the door opening in the black rubber tubing. An auto-elec can rewire this for you. Hopefully this helps.

Yeah I would use a multimeter to check the loom for continuity from the main plug to the plugs that go to your window switch, speaker and lock. Might need to replace the loom.

The wires in the loom can break especially between the rear door and the pillar. I have a problem with my right hand rear window ,sometimes the electric window button on the door stops working, I find if i give the loom a bit of a tickle it works for a while till someone opens the door then it stops.

take ya time and u can replace each of the wires with new wire joined with solder and covered with heat shrink. maybe u can buy the loom that goes from the body to the door, but it might be expensive. i did this to my old VT and the problems went away.

Sounds like broken wires. (Open circuit)
Check for continuity like some of the boys mentioned.
You can make your own loom its easy just copy the one in there. Use electrical tape and the right size wire and solder the connectors on the
end of the loom. Way cheaper then the lions den.
