replaced bcm, key barrel, new keys, remote locks work everything seems to work and the engine runs then shut off after 3 or 4 seconds,
is this a common problem? is there something i have forgotten to do or replace?

I know it may sound stupid but have you checked fuel, wether pump is running or lines blocked. Had a vehicle into work with same prob, customer was pulling his hair out trying to figure out what it was s& had replaced everything you had & turned out to be a blocked fuel line. Other options might be a relay not working as it should, something you have replaced is faulty(it does happen with new parts occasionally)
did you get the new bcm linked to the ecu

afaik the fuel stuff is fine, and have checked the relays and that,
as with the linking how is this done?

tech-2 can link the bcm with the ecu. also the idle speed motor on the throttle body could be worn. and the throttle position sensor is also on the throttle body. should check this also.
check oil sender relay and/or wire on the sender itself on the engine block.

oil sender is a saftey thing, in case of accident the fuel is shut of if no oil pressure is detected for around eight seconds.
it is assumed you have crashed.

Hi mate try and check your cam sensor and crank angle sensor and there connections, I had a similiar problem but alot of the time It didnt even run for 3-4 secs. You could also rule out the earth connections for the PCM (hope you have a manual) things I would check/replace just because they can't hurt and are cheap and easy to do are your fuel filter, ignition leads, spark plugs, fuel quality/level and also fuses and other general connections/bare wires. good luck hopefully it wont take very long to get sorted.
P.S if you replace your crank angle sensor spend the 30 quid on a new belt if urs is old
check for any codes
