Default Boot release won't work, BCM ??

G'day, I have a 1999 VT Series 2 SS the boot has stopped opening with the remote, can't use the key because the guy I bought it from changed the boot lid but not the lock, if you press the key remote nothing happens, same as the glovebox button, but when you push one of them you do get a clicking sound from the BCM, is this a fuse or do I shell out for a new BCM.
    Cheers

Can you hear anything from the boot area when you press the remote button? If yiu can you may find the boot opening actuator has seen better days or the link rod from the lock to the actuator is broken.

no noise from the boot release actuator just a clicking from the BCM, the only mods to the car was genuine monaro tail-lights fitted the day before but I checked everything was working after the install

I doubt that the problem is the BCM, maybe you disturbed some wiring when you did the tail lights

The boot actuator works same as a central locking module. So if you can't hear it click inside the boot then the problem could be this:

    - No power going to it, from the loom.
    - not plugged in
    - not connected to the lock via the metal control rod.
    - stuffed actuator.

    cheers.

doors lock and unlock, electric windows work, car starts, the only things that don't work are the boot release and indicators don't light up when locking or unlocking the car
