VX Calais Garnish on Monaro

Hi, I've been looking at doing some body mods to my Monaro and I've always like the VX Calais/HSV rear garnish and lights as I've always disliked the VX painted garnish. What do other people think? Would it look good to replace the Monaro lights and garnish with the Calais?



The original Commodore Coupe Concept was like this because they based it on the VT, but when it was released they had the VX and used those garnishes and the new lights. I like the concept look and the chrome strip would really suit my Phantom Mica Black, which has a subtlety of chrome badges and edges on the wheels

Yeah you are right, it was too. And then they omitted the lights from the boot in the production model. Always liked these lights on the Calais VX. Thumbs up from me! Post pics when you get it done

yeah I'm pretty sure I'll get it done, just gotta find a good quality set without spending a freaking fortune. Will also need the very lower strip of colour coded plastic that goes under the garnish because the VX one is all one piece.

well its completely up to you, just don't be surprised if someone says WHY did you change the exterior of a Monaro!

I have seen one on a Green Monaro, looked awesome I think, but I have a VX Berlina so I am a biased judge. Here is a picture so you can be the judge ......

the std Monaro lights look best at night, but during the day they're a bit... ordinary in my opinion.

I'm also considering making up a custom garnish that better compliments the Monaro lights, might fiddle with photoshop a bit more to flesh that concept out


EDIT: Stuff it, black Altezza LED tail lights will probably look the best on a phantom black Monaro
