    Default vt commodore air con

hi to all well i now have an answer to vt commodores with climate control air con re upon acceleratin where air from face vents goes to demist when backing off returns to face, i allready replaced air storage tank, one way valve at rear plenum chamber valve box behind glove box, replaced acctuator behind cig lighter (removed centre console and air duct to get to screw) here is the answer took to an auto sparky who has a smoke machine connected it to vacuum line and hey presto smoke was coming from accuator so diaphram was ruptured, also put vacuum pump on as well and sure enough it was same accuator U/S, cost me $30.00, off to local holden dealer, purchase new accuator $55 trade $61 retail, put it in myself and all was well, the one i replaced has 1 orange and 1 red vacuum line on it the one behind cig lighter has 1 white and 1 green vacuum line, make sure you remove and replace them the same way, if you take off the panal on drivers side of hump you can see them both the one on a 45 degree is the culprit i sugest you replace both, mine now works no loss at all so am very happy, air and heater box do not have to be removed, hope this helps all you guys girls looking for the fix you can call me if you like PH 0417189466
    GOOD LUCK
i also had it regassed, first place quoted me $1000 said compressor us and needed to replace all ac piping, well talk a bout a rip off so got second opinion, checked every thing again for me, found it was compressor pipe sealing washers replaced them regassed put dye in all good cost $150 im very happy they know who they are wouldnt reccomend them to any one, Geelong is only a small place.

Thanks Mate. Excellent post. My VT has been doing this for ages but it's got so bad now I barely touch the accelerator and the air blows on the windscreen. Will get hold of an actuator and replace it. Thanks. Can't believe it was electronically switched!!
