Auto VX V8 Gearbox Swap (with another auto)

The auto gear box in my 01 VX SS (172000km) needs replacing what are my options for used gearboxs I know vx v8 statesmans, calais, monaros ect have the same gearbox that I could get swaped in if I can find one but will other auto gearboxs go in ie vy, vz, vt will a vx v6 gearbox go in?

Any info would be great just working together enough information so I go to the wreckers and not get an incompatable gearbox.

best to get one from the same type ls1 vz hsv has the better auto
