Default Serv Error on my just purchased VT Wagon

    Hi everyone!

I've just purchased a VT Acclaim S2 Wagon and I noticed today that when I turn the ignition to start her up, I see "Serv Error" on the display for a few seconds and then it disappears.

I've checked the error codes and it flashed 1, pause, 1, 1 for about 5 minutes. I've also checked the fuses under the dash and in the engine bay. I can't seem to find any problems but this is my first real car so I'm not too sure what else to check.

I'm taking her to see the mechanic on Monday but I thought I'd ask just in case it's a minor problem that I can fix myself.

Also, does anyone know what kind of adhesive they use on the Holden badges? I'm missing my rear one at the moment.

    Thanks in advance,
    Mark

The code you are getting is 12 and that means there is no error logged on.
Try this and see what happens. Note this is for resetting the service light.

    Ignition off.

Press and hold the up & down arrows and turn ignition on

Continue to hold down the arrow buttons for 2 seconds

    press the mode button once

press and hold the up & down arrow buttons until you hear a beep

If this fails turn your key on and off 100 times this also resets the serv light

    Thanks for the reply mate.

I reset the service light last night but the "Serv Error" is still being displayed.

Get the diagnostic machine on it. Go to a work shop or Holden that will have this.
And check for errors/scan through the diagnostic machine. You might have to pay a small fee.
I have never herd of this problem since working as a Auot-elec. Maybe try to disconnect the battery for a bit and reconnecting it back up worth a try don't no if it will work. If you have factory radio make sure you have the code for it before you disconnect the battery.
Maybe someone on the forum will no what's going on since i have never come pass this.

What do you mean the engine cuts out itself and then starts itself.?
Does the car totally cut off then after you got to start it with the key or the car seems to almost cut out then pick back up again?. be more specific does the lights constanly stay on the dash.

Check for error codes on the car bridge pins 5/6 on the data link connector
