CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, When i fill fuel tank...

Hi guys, anyone have any idea... well when i fill my tank right up, 5-10mins down the road the engine light comes on... only when i 1st fill it. when i stop and turn car off for a minute, then go again it's all good, untill i fill it again...

any help is appreciated... THANKS

it's a VX SS 5.7

could be the carbon canister purge valve not working correctly, if its full of fuel vapour and lets too much out too quickly it overfuels the motor and sets an oxygen sensor code.

about all i can think of cos thats the only thing that could set a dtc

ok cool thanks, so i just need to replace that cannister ? or is the valve outside the cannister ?

well if the check engine lights on then it would of set a code in the ecu. get the code checked and see what its doing before you replace anything

check ya o2 sensors mate they trigger the engine light. undo em mate see if they rattle at all
