Factory alarm to go off

i bought my car in december last year and since ive had it, the alarm doesnt make any noise when it goes off, the lights just flash, ive been told that i have to take it to a holden dealer to get something on the computer changed, is this true or what do i have to do?

hmmm had a similar problem with my VS not sure if its the same with the VX...anyways can you locate the actual siren? should be in the enigne bay somewhere, when you find it take a good look at it and see if it has a key hole on it, if so this is the switch to turn on or off the siren. You should have a tiny key that came with the car.

So thats what the little key is for ? the siren might even be damaged or a loose wiring connection or something mate

its like a little round key like a tube...mine gets well used every bloody time it rains the alarm goes off when i try to drive lol...
