I did a quick search and found some similar threads but no answers, got the road worthy done on the VT today but the drivers side electric window doesn't work its stuck. All the other windows work fine just the drives side. When i push the button down you can hear a click back behind the fuses near the fire wall but not when you try wind the window up
(not that it moves at all). Is the regulator rooted?
A common problem is a broken wire in the rubber boot that goes from the body to the door. You can check the regulator motor by applying 12 volts directly to the terminals on the motor, if it doesn't move then the motor is stuffed.
MY RIDE
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
Hey earl
Same thing happened to me, but on the passenger front door - I thought it was the regulator too! Took it to the elec window specialist and he said the main switch was dirty. Coz the drink holders are right near the main window switch, you put a Coke from Maccas in there, go round a corner and a little bit of Coke goes in your switch. Add that to general dirt, sweat from fingers and the switches get dirty and don't make contact.
What he did was pull out the switch from the console and unplug it from the loom. Have a look at the contacts and with some fine sandpaper rub where the switch contacts touch. Put it back and see how you go. If not, main window switches are like $60 from Holden. Try the wreckers for a cheaper way but you buy just be buying the same problem again.
Hope this helps
P.S. I haven't had a problem since!
pull the door trim off and check to see if the little plastic clips that go in the regulator runners(bottom of door glass) are not broken and jamming the window.
checked it all out and the regulator was rooted, picked up a new one for $90 drilled out the rivets and bolted the new one in 30mins work and its like new!
