Default need help with car faults

    Hello

Can anyone tell me what may be wrong with my car its a VT Commodore auto? This morning i started it and it was running fine, except the abs light on the dash remained on. I got to my destination without anyproblems but on the way back my car started to shudder and vibrate as i was driving and the temp gage was going from cold to hot rapidly. Does anyone know what may be the problem/s.

hey guys. this sounds like a lack of battery power to me....

had a similar problem last week. my car would be harder and harder to start as time went by, the dash would drop out and my abs light would come on. as soon as the abs came on, it was like i lost all other gears in the car and i was getting round stuck in 3rd gear.

i initially thought it was the battery going dead. my battery had not been topped with fluid, so i did that. then while i was driving, everything cut out and i stalled. Figured my battery was either not holding charge, or my alternator was screwed. talked about it to a mate, suggested to take out the regulator from the alternator (black plastic which holds loom, held in by two screws) and check the two brushes within. one was worn right down.....replacement should only cost about 60-70 bucks....beats buying a whole new alternator!

anyway, couple ideas for you to try. hope you get out of it cheaply.
