dont do the home made air intake. i did it on my old vt and barely noticed a difference, looks real tacky and you have to hack up your air box. the only thing a v6 needs for better air flow with minor mods like exhaust and rockers is a k and n panel filter.

also less problem w/ the friendly boys in blue, best to just get the filter, or if you wanna be different, there is a growler air filter that is avaliable, but im assuming you dont want to spend too much money, so the filter wouild be best.

my mate has it on his vt and it is a fair difference in acceleration and fuel consumption, you get power and you get more mileage, its from ss inductions, it has a pod filter kind of thing inside a box down under the headlgiht if memory serves me right. when my mate got it, it cost him 500$ but it might be cheaper, so it is a growler air filter by ssinductions.

SS Inductions - Performance Automotive Enhancements

here is the link, sorry but it still costs the same lol, but it makes its money back w/ the fuel that you save, depending how you drive and what not.
    hope this helps
