Hey just a quick one
Me n my mate are going to try fix up his front bumper that has two cracks in it, from when he hit a curb.
now im pretty good when it comes to painting etc. but im just curious if theres a tutorial on here, or if anyone has any information on the steps need to be taken.
any help is apreciated
thanx
ok...step 1 remove broken bit from car..carefully
step 2 clean broken area and surrounds of all road grime
step 3 sand all loose fibre out of glass
step 4 apply repair coats of fibre sheets and paint with fibre cement paste (if possible run the grain alternate ways in each layer..(note on the unseen side you can leave a patch proud of the surface area and coving a little more than the hole...once dry it can be painted...)
step 5 if the hole came through and shows on the front surface...the viewing surface.. fill the balance of the hole with putty ...body filler as you would a car repair....
step 6 sand the front surface....done to 800 grit....and apply a sealing coat of primer..
step 7... finishing coat matching the body ...and lite sand with 800
step 8 ...a coat of clear...
JOB done..making sure you wipe clean with solvant before you sand and paint
and make sure you do ruff sanding with 100/200/400 and finals with 800/1000 using water always
