Hey Guys,
I'm about to flush & refill the cooling system & just have one query, do i need to use the Holden pellets to prevent deposits from forming on the water pump seal if i'm not using Holden's genuine coolant? I will be using the Castrol Anti freeze 350 concentrate.
I have had no leaks as of yet.
I have done abit of browsing and read the pellets were used to fix the problem associated with using the genuine coolant.
2001 VX Commodore Lumina. 124,000km.
Thanks in advance.
Always use Holden coolant is no. 1 advice i give u. next if they recommend the pellets for your model than use them. BTW Holden coolant is second best. rated by CSIRO so i always use this.
what is THE best then?
All after market and genuine coolants that have the 1997 in the code (the year this mix was release) has the seal lubricant in it, use what ever you want my reccomendation is the nulon range green for cast iron blocks and red for alloy blocks it lasts longer and like most quality aftermarket gear...p$sses all over OEM. they have not really used them (pellets) since VP/VR (pre 97).
