lock the car with the drivers window down, (just lock, don't deadlock). Wait, i think its 1 minute but maybe wait 2 minutes just to be sure. open the lock from inside the car, then open the door. If your horn is beeping, then you have an alarm (to turn it off close the door then lock and unlock from the remote).

I'm not sure if they come factory on the SS, but everyone else i know who has anything higher than an exec (all of them have either VXs or VYs), they all have alarms, so i'd probably assume they came factory on the SS's.

The factory immobilizers are supposed to be pretty good, if someone was trying to steal your car they would need to know a few things about how the security system works to get it going i'd assume.

Open Ya boot (just press the release button but dont open it, then lock the car, WAit 2 mins, then open the boot, if it dont go off no alarm. I know the VY S1 SSs have them.
If you wanted to upgrade, i would look at maybe GPS tracking & SMS/phone alerts, so anything happens, Police can track the car and you can be alerted as soon as something sets it off.

I just tried it, and the interior light flashes and the indicators flash, but no sound. does this mean no alarm or something wrong with it?
