I have a 2000 VTII which has performed faultlessly since driving out of Suttons City Holden with 17km on odo.
However, since moving to Perth 4mths ago I have experienced electrical faults/indications occurring now on a daily basis. I will explain...
Initially the ABS lt will illum for approx 30s after which the ENG, TRAC and AIRBAG lts illum and the low fuel warn sounds. Sometimes the OIL lt also illum which adds the PRK BRK set tune after low fuel warn aural.
The engine fan starts and runs as long as this condition is apparent. If the A/C is on it cannot be switched off and vice-versa. This also goes for the CC.
If the condition exists on engine start an ERROR code also briefly appears in the multi mode display under speedo.
This occurs randomly whilst driving and almost always on start-up on hot days.
Has the Perth weather cooked my Commodore?
Apart from all of this the car and engine operate normally.
Thank you for reading this long-winded synopsis. Any assitance prior to speaking to the 'experts' would be greatly appreciated.
ABS module has failed, been covered many times. When all those lights come up, undo the ABS connector and all but ABS light should go away, if so then definately ABS module.
Also small chance that alternator regulator has died, but try above test first.
