Hi guys, i have a 1998 vt which has started to miss under acceleration.if you are very light footed you can get up to speed without it missing, but normal driving it'll miss. once up to speed it seems happy to stay there without a problem..Anything simple to check before i take to the mechanic?..will check the leads etc and also seen someone mention the airflow sensor in vt get dirty..is this easily to check?
Plugs or leads are the most likely suspects. If they haven't been changed in years then it wouldn't hurt to replace them.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
What he said, check all your leads are securely on the plugs. If so, replace the plugs and if that doesn't help, then the leads.
If you don't want to spend money unnecessarily see if you can borrow a friends plugs/leads to test.

As Mick1988 and accentstencil said I'd be going with plugs, this happens when mine plugs are getting older. How many klms since they were change last. Plugs are not expensive to change over.
thanks guys...havent had it for very long, so not sure when they were changed last..went and bought a set of leads, plugs and a haynes repair manual for a $140. fitted the leads and plugs and so far seems to have fixed it....forgot to mention, it also has that climate control problem were under hard accelleration the air diverts up to the windscreen vents..seen on here that its probably a vaccum leek somewhere, so will look at that one on the weekend
