Default Help With Torque Converter Choice :S

So, im getting a new tranny tomorrow and im putting a Transgo Stage 2 Shift Kit in and Corvette Servo. I was wondering if a 2500RPM Red Diamond Hi-Stall Torque Converter would suit it? I want to get everyhting on the auto done before i put it in.

No one here can tell you the right answer. Talk to a torque converter manufacturer, and they will get all the engine data from you and then they will give you their choice.

Heya mate, im a tranny specialist doing my time in an auto shop so i should be able to help you
firstly ide give up on the corvette servo, and spend a little more and use what ive put into mine, its called a super servo
its got about 35% more surface area then the vette piston, really makes a difference,

if your getting the whole box done, ide look at putting in a wider kevlar band and the heavy duty reaction shell which most manufactures refer to as the beast

as for the converter, is it your daily driver or somethign u put down the tract and have you ever driven something with a stall converter before
cause trying to park a car with a stally at k-mart can be quite painfull

ive a 3000 stall in a stock vn 5ltr footbrakes to 2500 flashes to about 2800 you hardly no its there when driving normal never have any trouble parking it at kmart either.took 4/10s of my 1/8 mile time gr8 value for money and heaps of fun. highly recomend one. and all these stories that rev to max stall speed when trying to take of normally is crap.

spose it depends on where and how your converter was made we have all our converters custom made and unless you buy from a big brand name company that makes thousands of the same converters the stall will slightly vary from your chosen stall, that would be why yours hit in at 2800

but ive never driven anything with under a 4000 stall in it and the few cars that have had the 4k stall are night mares to park

but as for holden_for_life dont waste your money on a dominator or the like, they are nothing any better then a any quality converter rebuilder can put together for you

basically, i want to put my servo, shift kit and hi stall on, but if theres any other mods, changes or chops id love to do them aswell....i want to do this right so i dont have to pull it out to do it again, its all out now and i want to get the parts you guys suggest. Its a everyday car but since ive done so much to it, i think ill make it a weekender car haha. con7502003 thanks for your positive advice, it makes me so happy to look at whats about to go in the car now haha and HBDCalais, i will be sure to lok into getting a super servo.

if your going with the super servo make sure u get the wider kevlar band put in aswell
as after 6 months on a standard band i broke off the part where the strut from the servo mounts to the band, and its only an extra 40-60 bucks so the ammount of extra life u will get out of it it pays for itself
