Converting to manual

Hey all,

IM wanting to convert my wifes VT SS to a Manual, My question i have is can i use the T5 5 Speed or do i need to use the Getrag 5 Speed. if im able to bold the T5 up and will bold to the car no worrys what Pedal Box will i use? a VN one?

The SS is a S1 5 Litre.......

You have to use the getrag box with the hydraulic clutch, The problem I have with the whole thing is cost though. Wreckers have been telling me that 2.5 to 3K will get me a kit (when they have one). Read around the forums and you will quickly see that they come with a duel mass flywheel which arn't so great, these can be converted to a conventional flywheel for more $$$ and you may as well put in a new clutch.

So from what I can tell your looking around 4K already.

Shouldnt cost that much. i have seen reco gearboxes for these for $800. pedal box just use one from a 6 cyl as long as its hydraulic setup. for around 2 grand at the most you could do it yourself no worries

Where are the boxes for that much? I am looking mainly on ebay and emailing wreckers on the trading post, good to know about the pedals though, thanks
