Go for upgraded valve springs, retainers, locks, viton stem seals, rollmaster double row timing chain with balance shaft delete and you should be where you want to be. It will cost you around $3500 installed and tuned if you get a shop to buy your parts or a tad cheaper if you do your research and buy all the parts yourself then get someone to do the install.
Budget for coolant and a minor service as well.

hahaa thanx dude i just got new wheels so im just lookin 4 prices lol. Can i just put a cam in and get a lumpy sound ?????? Or cant i just put it in without other stuff????
You CAN technically put the cam in without the rest of the stuff, just because your motor won't last 2 minutes after you turn it on won't stop you getting your lumpy sound. Seriously mate a lumpy ecotec isn't really gonna sound too bad ass, now a lumpy 5 litre apparently sounds quite nice. Ever thought about a 5 litre conversion, probably about same price and much better.

you can get a nice lumpy cam for the v6, i think its called a vs cam or vs hot cam, it has nothign to do with it being for a vs commodore just the name for it, if u can find info on it on the next i know they are lumpy and sound good, heard one in the flesh,
but unless ur planning on running boost i dont think ide bother with a lumpy cam, as with the valve over lap u would be getting down low it would kill kill alot of your take off touque and it wouldnt make a great deal of power till higher in the rev range
Camtech Cams,Wade Cams, Crow Cams, Comp Cams, Mace Engineering to name a few. They all have good websites.
Comp Cams Xtreme Energy L36 Cam is one i am looking at.
