ok i know i am dragging up old threads but i did a bit of research and found out i could rest my memcal on my vt calais 1999 now the way i did it was
disconnected my neg.. terminal for about 10-15 seconds pump on my break 5 times reconnected my negative terminal and started up my car held the revs up at 2000 for 10 seconds then 3000 for 10 seconds seem to be running better
just would like comments if i did this right
After you reved it for 10 seconds at 2000 then did you go back to idle then rev it to 3000..
Or did you just go from 2000 then straight away 3000????
I just need to do this to my car
Thankyou
alot people say it does nothing, ive tried after services & bigger tb etc I wouldnt say it does too much
i went from 2000 for 10sec straight up 3000 for ten
the only need for holding the revs higher is so the idle stepper motor can readjust itself as some cars tend to keep stalling or idleing so low it stalls when put in gear
so as long as u either do the batt terminal off and drain residual power from computer with either pumping break pedal for a while or pressing horn idle it high for a while or straight away take it for a drive it will do the same job
