Default VZ Monaro front bar on VT SS

Hi guys, new member. I found this site through searching for Monaro front bars on VT's. I have recently purchased a white VT SS and I am planning on putting the VZ Monaro front bar on it. Im currently thinking would the Monaro front look weird (out of place) with the SS side skirts and rear bumper? I thought I would start a thread and see what everyone thinks.

    Thanks

I think you can get full monaro kits to suit sedans that'd prob look alright.

if i was gonna do a monaro front bar id swap the hole body kit over to suit, i think it would look better and not half done.

yeah i am considering it. I have a massive list of things to do. I was hoping to help cut it down buy leaving the Monaro rear bar and side skirts off lol. Anyone else have any thoughts.

Yeah thats what ive heard. I may pop into our Holden dealer and start lookin at some prices. For the time being I may just have this fitted with the SS bumper and skirts and change it later. The SS skirts seem to be thick at the front so it will hopefully flow into the Monaro front.

I'd go a V1 style kit. The older monaro's use the same kit as the SS (obvs rear bar is a different size) so you could get away with keeping the skirts and rear bar, and it would still match.

Whats the difference in the headlights? Google seems to think they are all identical physical shape.....

He's not talking about that, he's talking about VZ Monaro headlights NOT fitting older monaro's and VT/Xs.

vz monaro headlights are slightly "sharper" shaped at the inside near the grill so to speak. have a google of the vt and vz monaro's and you'll see where im talking about

it's a lot of work to fit the vz monaro rear bar on a sedan. a lot of cut and shutting. you will need 3 barcovers to make one. well worth the effort though. not a job for the inexperienced. i dont think anyone has done a fibre glass one for the sedan yet. maybe a market if anyone has got the skills.

what do you mean by "barcover"? as in 3 rear bumpers to make one to suit a vt sedan? im not experienced but am fair good with fabricating...i'd say i can do it as i have a full mechanical workshop available to me as i live on a farm..

yes, 3 rear bumpers. unless you can plastic weld or make fibre glass moulds, a full mechanical workshop isn't going to do you much good. The fibre glass boat builder that works for me did it for me-it took him 68 hours of labour and he was ready to quit when he finished. he said never again.

Well im pretty much decided on a V2 front end from a Holden dealer for $300. Should suit the side skirts and rear bar. VZ front may look a bit to different.

the vz coupe side skirts are very close to the vt ss side skirts. the vz coupe bar shouldnt look out of place with the ss skirts. its been done by heaps of people.
