    Default VT Key Head

Hi all i purchased a new uncoded key head for my VT entered the car turned the key to the on position for 30 seconds then started the car... keyhead programmed just fine. The thing is the buttons dont lock/unlock the doors or operate the boot... should those of programed when the key was coded to the car during the 30 seconds in the on position? or am i supposed to do something else to get the buttons working?

    Thanks all!!!

did you get the key done by mr minit?

Your ment to leave the key in the car running or key left on for 1 minute...

did you follow all the instructions ?

your ment to unlock the car
get in and lock the doors inside...
then do the key start engine or leave on for 1 minute...
    then turn off
    then manunlock the door
get out and try it...on boot or locks...

you can try retrying that....but you may have to take it back...

you need to take it to your local holden stealership or mr minit to get your key coded. will never lock or unlock anything until you do.

i think we assuming you got this done from a mr minit...and he gave you instructions...
and for whatever reason you replaced the electronic end ...
    big question is....
was the key working or did mr minit tell you he has recoded your key...and all you need to do is re pair it with the car?
if he entered a code in it..5 digit or 6 digit
and gave that to you on a paper...after confiming you are the real owner...

or are you saying you just bought a electronic end only and have placed your key in the end ...
and you expect it to work....?

and we hope you come back and tell us how you got it working..

No i just bought a brand new key head and screwed my old key to it, then entered the car and left it in the on position for 30 secs, then started the car. It was bought from a holden dealer brand new a while back and never used, and i bought it off my friend as my old one broke, it had no instructions, i just read the 30 sec thing on the net... i didnt see anything about the boot or door buttons while reading and assumed they would just operate also, guess they didn't
