VT Calais starts first kick then idles roughly and dies.

I sprayed some aerostart while cranking engine and it started and ran powerfully while I fed in spurts of aerostart. With a fully charged battery I cranked for 20 seconds and got 400 mls of fuel out of the fuel filter outlet.Then with finger over filter outlet got my son to crank for 5 secs then stop, when I gradually released my finger from the filter outlet there was reasonable pressure to finely mist the fuel. So I'm assuming that's sufficient pressure and the fuel filter and pump are OK. The injector fuses are fine, I'm suspecting other electronic failures.Since it revved on aerostart I've disregarded the throttle sensor and CAS, and was wondering where the PCV was on the V6.Maybe I'm still in the 161 red motor era ,this is my son's car. If anyone could offer some advice I can systematically go through them.Thanks

well if it reved up thats a vaccumn leak so check all hoses 4 cracks.

Thanks blueV8vl,,,I tested the hoses,they are OK, I've disconnected the battery for computer reset,also kept the key in on position for 1 hr,from what I read on other threads,no change,maybe check some sensors,something electrical to computer,thinking of purchasing cd diagnostic interface as a last resort.

You cant check the fuel pump like that you need to test it with a pressure gauge. To see if the pump is pumping enough pressure.
Could be dirty injectors awell mate.
Bridge pins 5/6 to see if any fault code have logged. Daignostic connector under the sterring wheel

Thanks Pravx 11 x ,I thought instead of all the coding and software gear I'd have to get,or multiple trial and error with these goddam sensors,especially since I live a long way from anywhere,I went for a cheap $55 fuel pump,which still took a week to arrive,which I fitted and fired up first kick and revved beautifully.I hadnt checked the posts,but you were right,the pressure is important.
It was interesting when I first just turned the ignition key to on for priming,a sound from the fuel rail,maybe the injectors getting primed at the right pressure,a very slight clicking sound which stopped after about 3 seconds?
