Steering wheel height! Help!

I've just purchased a 2001 VX s and I can't adjust the height of the sterring wheel. I can get it to move in and out but not higher or lower.

Any suggestions? If's as if it's stuck or something. Has anyone else encounted this problem?

This might sound silly , but did you undo the lever on the right hand side of the steering column? Just pull it down to release it then adjust the column to suit .

Yes the leaver is pulled right down. I can adjust it forwards and backwards but it's not moving up and down at all. I've had a friend try with no success?!?!?!??!


Any ideas? Surely it's something simple to fix?

how about this idea....
spray the movable area with wd40.....i am sure that will help
