your car is an auto transmission...
the oil is leaking from the transmiisson cooling section of the rad ...
into the water cooling section of the rad...

    best way to fix this...is....

bypass the cooling in the rad...and get a small cooler from the wreckers for auto trans
and prefered is a size about at least....as long as the standard rad is long but say 9 inch high

however you can get away with shorter one...maybe 2ft long and 6inch high...
route all the current auto trans oil from entry and exit points on the current rad...
to the new rad...and block of all old rad holes...
the car will now use the total amount of the rad...and your tranny the new rad...

    OR buy a new rad

    Or have the rad repaired

    thanks
I only noticed it as the expansion bottle was low.
It does look at bit browny, red.
Any idea on the price of a fix or replacement radiator ?

Chances are....if oil from the tranny has got into the radiator water then water from the radiator has got into the tranny. I'd look into that too before it does any damage to the tranny.

a new rad is about 200 bucks or less

that brown red coloured water is a sign of boiling of impurities out of water in the rad and engine and heater...
that means your not using a coolant mix...and weaking the ratio with water too much...
and its in need of a good flush...

so when you place the new rad in or yours repaired...and its better off being new!
cause we talking about an item that if it defects it kills your engine...

Clean your system.....and flush it out..
    heater pipes lines...overflow bottle...

and if you need to replace a $200 rad.including its new rad top..replace the $80 water pump...and $25 themostate
and use 1/2 coolant to water mix and fill the system...and in a few weeks
drop it out and flush it
    and refil with new stuff...
then top ups are coolant only....
and replace where needed faulty pipes or clamps...

then you protected the lot !
and system flushes are every 1 year

    I can get a radiator for $150.
Will try and do it with a few mates. I cant find a how to on this site. Anyone have one or know of one on a different site.
A radiator place said to put a but of degreaser in the radiator. run few a few kilometers. this is to help when flushing the system.
    sounds a bit weird.
any help full hints to make this job easier ?
a how to would be really good.

What if the coolant reservoir tank is cracked? I just noticed it when was taken a look at the coolant in the reservoir but when i filled it up it spilled all over the floor, shined a light down the neck of the container and saw a crack! First the CATs, then yesterday was the windshield and now the cracked coolant reservoir. The car drives really well though and no signs of overheating. The coolant is in the normal level and i'm using premixed Castrol coolant

I would replace the overflow bottle as soon as possible to avoid overheating issues. When the coolant gets very hot some goes into the overflow bottle and then gets sucked back into the radiator when it cools down.
