Hi there what can be done to a VT commodore to improve handling significantly eg: coil overs, strut braces, adjustable anti roll bars, to make the thing rail corners as good if not better than the average rexy and skyline.
What do people in the know with experience recommend parts and brand wise.
Rough prices would be great too if possible.
Cheers Glenn
Oh and sorry if something like this has been done already.
Frankly I don't think you will ever match a good Rex or Skyline, your comparing a family car to a sports vehicle. Sure you can make it better, and yeah a good coilover kit, thicker sway bars, an adjustable strut brace, and good quality bushes will improve it drastically, just don't try to out-maneuver a WRX Impreza, because they will eat you for dinner. Not trying to sound over-critical of your plans, just adding my input.

All good mate just trying to tell people that I don't want to get your average kit I will be looking at doing a lot of weight reduction to the car + suspension and brake upgrades for hill climbs and track days possibly.
But if we can also help others out that are just trying to get decent handling out of there street car that would be helpful for a lot of people i think.
nolthane bushes in high stress areas , bracing of suspensions points and mounts , adjustable components from rear tie rods to camber caster bushes , uprated and lowered springs , adjustable sway bars , corner weighting of the car and a decent wheel alignment front and rear , good set of wheels and decent low profile tyres
Cheers mate that helps a lot will look into prices for the above mods when I get time off work.
Ah didn't know you were going to use it for track days, and hill climbs. I wouldn't go too low, need suspension that can be stiff but not so stiff that it will feel like you bolted the chassis to the struts. A good coil-over kit will provide you the best option, as it can be setup differently for different events. Give GSLRallySports (forum sponsor) a call, these guys actually do rally racing and work on rally cars, but I'm sure they know all about what is required for bitumen racing too. Plus they stock some good coil-over goods.
